About the Role

At Griffiths Waite (GW), we design and build innovative digital solutions for enterprise clients, combining strong engineering principles, modern technologies and a culture of learning. Our placements offer the chance to work alongside experienced software engineers while developing real-world skills across design, development, testing and delivery.

You'll be part of a collaborative agile team, contributing to live projects using technologies such as Node.js, React and TypeScript. While most placements focus on software development, we also welcome applicants with a natural interest or growing skills in data science, artificial intelligence or automated testing, as these areas are increasingly shaping the way we deliver solutions for our clients.

We're looking for curious, motivated individuals who enjoy solving problems, learning new tools and techniques and working as part of a supportive team. Whether your strengths lie in software engineering, data or intelligent automation, there's room to explore and grow at GW.

What You'll Get From Us

  • A structured onboarding and training programme, including an 8 to 12 week engineering boot camp
  • Mentoring and one-to-one guidance from experienced engineers and team leads
  • The chance to work on challenging, high-impact client projects
  • Exposure to agile delivery practices and AI-driven development
  • A friendly, inclusive culture built around our values: Brilliance, Trust, Collaboration and Ownership

By the end of the placement, you'll have built real software, contributed to meaningful projects and developed the skills to thrive in a professional engineering environment that values curiosity, creativity and technical excellence.

What We're Looking For

Do you have:

  • The curiosity and mindset to thrive in a fast-changing technical environment
  • A strong team-working ethic with excellent self-motivation
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • A passion for technology and an eagerness to learn from experienced engineers

  • Data and AI: Data analysis, machine learning or intelligent automation
  • Testing and quality: Automated testing, CI/CD, or quality assurance practices
  • Infrastructure and cloud: Understanding of cloud platforms, security or system reliability

We're looking for individuals who enjoy problem-solving, want to apply what they've learned in real projects and are keen to grow their technical and professional skills within a supportive engineering environment.
